This dollhouse fridge and freezer has doors that open. The set also includes a fridge box, two baskets and some fridge props.
The fridge was designed mostly in Onshape and it is inspired by older fridge models but isn't really based on any specific model. I just aimed for an old or possibly modern retro look.
The fridge is scaled to fit with Sylvanian families but I think the material is thick enough to be re-seized to also fit Playmobil. Just contact me if that doesn't work and if you would like me to update the design.
Props
An empty fridge is no fun to play with so ofc there need to be a lot of props. Luckily I already have several designs available from the vegetable garden and cakes sets, and there are ofc also countless others available on Thingiverse.
However, the fridge inspired me to create a couple of new props still.
First prop is a very simple honey jar which has more or less the same design as Ritabunney's jar except that it has slightly rounded corners. Once I printed this jar, beehives suddenly popped up in the todo list too, but that will be a later project.
There are also a couple of bottles, one for milk and one clay bottle with less obvious content.
And ofc there need to be a cheese with a slight slope in a fridge! The cheese and plate are separate pieces.

Assembly
The doors can be opened separately and are assembled by using filament as hinge rod. It easiest to insert it from bottom and up.
Print support & orientation
I printed the fridge flat on its back and the doors with the door handles pointing upwards. To ensure that the small door border also printed properly I added support around the edges. The door insides looks slightly worse than the rest of the model but not bad enough for the kids to notice and complain at least.
The bottles, cheese, honey jar, fridge box and baskets prints nicely without any support.
